I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life and see if I could not learn what it had to teach…

-Henry David Thoreau

I also want to live deliberately, but unlike, Thoreau, I have three kids, a husband, friends, and, well, a big life. I want to front the essential facts of life, but I’m not moving to the woods anytime soon. Instead, I love my tiny space smack in the middle of a city. I want to live simply and have a big life.

Big Life|Simple Living is saying “no” to everything that doesn’t beat your heart. Big Life|Simple Living is focusing your energy, time and passion to the elements of your big life that bring you joy and freedom. Building a Big Life is a highly personal exploration of how to live in this world – your world – right now.

For me, Simple Living moves out of the countryside, and helps me bring focus and intention to a life in the city, filled with work that challenges me, family, and community. Simple Living’s tools of minimalism, self-reliance, and merciless curation create a Big Life that is the highest expression of your individual vision of a life well-lived.
